Great shoes, but a little tight around the ankle
I love that these shoes are waterproof; I've walked through puddles and damp grass with these, and my socks have stayed dry. The shoes are comfortable to walk in, but the ankle opening is tight (and I have fairly small ankles). I've walked in these for about 6 - 8 miles, and I'm still hoping they'll loosen up a bit. Overall, I like these shoes. I would just be cautious if you have larger ankles.
It’s normal for the ankle opening to be a little firm to start! Over the first few wears of your new shoes you’ll notice that the upper knit and ankle opening will stretch to accommodate and create the perfect shape around your feet. The reason you want this is to make sure no water comes in through the ankle. The only way to ensure this is if you allow the shoe to mold to your ankle shape. In order to do that, you do need them to be tight at first and then only stretch when they’ve learned your specific foot shape. This creates that snug, sock like fit that we are loved for!
Not to worry, after a few more wears the ankle opening will have loosened up to become the perfect fit for your feet. We recommend a shoehorn in the meantime! Glad you love them!
